The Things I'll do to Graduate....

So it has come to this....

The hoop jumping.

I'm about a year away from graduating with my Bachelor's in Social Work.

*bows to self-applause*

However just being able to graduate isn't that simple at my school.

You have to jump hoops.

Now,  when all is said and done I will finish all of my schooling with 123 hours of credit...

Don't get excited.
My degree requires 124 credits.

I LACK ONE CREDIT.

So....this is all leading up to a great deal of probable public humiliation in the form of:

A musical.

Yes...I will be auditioning for my univeristy's spring musical.
My knowledge of instrumental music will have to be translated into vocal performance.

It will probably be disasterous.

As of now my only fans are my steering wheel and shower-head.

I will keep you updated on the hilarity.

College is hard.
College is not always fun.
I decided to do something fun that slaps college in the face.

I've always enjoyed writing, but writing papers for class has sucked all the joy out of it.

I started a blog my freshman year of college to help blow off some steam...Google shut it down after a while.
Started a new one.......college ate away any time I had to post.

So here's to round three. :)

This is really just going to be an anything blog, filled with anything I feel like writing about.
I like the Bible and reading it- expect a few devos.
I am a hair/makeup nerd- expect a few beauty posts.
I like crafts- expect a few crafting things.

All in all these posts will be very "lorious" in their make up.
But I feel I must explain the term "lorious."

It all started one hot summer day while working at a Baptist summer camp........

It was hot, difficult, and extremely frustrating....

It was the low ropes course.

The lifeguard supervisor felt like torturing us by making us balance on 2 inch wide boards.

While making it to a wide-ish log of saftey I hear one of the lifeguard guys singing....
About me.

He had turned a familiar worship song called "Glorious Day" into a song called "Lorious Day."
Naturally it was pretty hilarious as it described my basic presence at this camp.

Many months later this concept of a "Lorious Day" kind of stuck in my head....

maybe it was 'cause I was super conceited. :P

But after telling the story of how the song came about to a friend, she giggled and said, "Well, all your days are lorious because you're Lori!"

And I am only Lori because I have a good, perfect, and righteous God who chose to make me.
I am only Lori because that same perfect God sent Jesus to die for me.
I am only Lori because God chooses to use me for His glory, despite me.

I can only have "lorious days" because I serve a God who makes everything glorious.
Lorious is a made-up term used to describe something that is totally me...
and I want anything that is me to be nothing but what God would have it be.

If you're reading this, that's my prayer for you too...that everything that is you,
everything that is Katyous, Davidous, Stephanious.......

is everything that God would have it be.

Lorious Day
